LAZO PRIVACY POLICY

We care about data privacy and security. By using the Services, you agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy posted on the Services, which is incorporated into these Terms and you consent to the collection, use and processing of your Personal Information, as defined in our Privacy Policy. To this effect, our Privacy Policy explains what Personal Information is being collected, why it is collected, who it will be shared with, for how long it will be retained, and for which specific purposes, as required by applicable privacy and data protection laws. This shall include but is not limited to information in your user account, in your Submissions or in your Contributions in connection with or related to the Services, as defined in further detail in Clause 6 above.

Our Privacy Policy also describes all the ways we use your Personal Information, and the legal bases we rely on to do so. You understand and agree that we may use your Personal Information for different purposes, including enhancing, improving and testing the features of the App, tailoring content to improve the user experience, facilitating effective communications between users of the Services and to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

You understand your rights with respect to your Personal Information, as specifically stated in our Privacy Policy (see Your Privacy Rights) and you understand the following important aspects of data privacy and personal data protection:

  • you may adjust the privacy settings to have control over who can see your Personal Information, including any Personal Information which may be included in your Contributions, and to have different levels of visibility over individual parts of your Contributions (such as posts, photos or videos), to determine who can see them (e.g. friends-only, private or public).
  • you may select specific individuals, groups or categories of users who can access your content based on your user-relationships (friends, followers, etc.) and you can control the privacy settings for your entire account to determine who can view the details of your account.

In addition, the App has built-in features designed to protect sensitive information by converting it into a coded format that can only be decrypted using a designated key (“encryption”), and to collect and process only the data that is necessary for the specific purposes (“data minimization”). These features incorporate data protection measures into the initial design and development of the App and are a fundamental component of system design and an important aspect of data privacy.

All of the above privacy settings and features are designed to comply with the relevant data protection laws, such as the ability to allow you to access and request deletion of your data, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in California. The Delaware Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) in Delaware, another US state following the trend of comprehensive privacy regimes similar to GDPR in Europe, was recently enacted in July 2023, and will take effect on January 1, 2025.

We are committed to comply with all applicable US state and federal privacy laws and regulations. As provided in this Agreement, you are responsible for ensuring that the Contributions you post or share with third parties do not violate the privacy and personal data protection rights of others and that you have obtained the necessary consents from such persons, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Please be advised the Services are hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from any other region of the world with laws or other requirements governing personal data collection, use, processing or disclosure that differ from applicable laws in the United States, then through your continued use of the Services, you are transferring your data to the United States, and you expressly consent to have your data transferred to and processed in the United States, in accordance with the provisions set forth in clauses 6 and 7 of our Privacy Policy (see International Data Transfers and EU US Data Privacy Framework, UK Extension and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, respectively).
